Mateya Arkova is our youngest visual artist. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Book Publishing and a Master’s Degree in Graphic Design. She has worked as a visual artist in the marketing and advertising industry for several years. During the whole time she has never given up her dream to become children’s book illustrator. Two years ago, her dream came through.

Since than it has been her full-time job and her passion grows even stronger. What is more exciting than turning your passion into occupation! She is excited by how endless the world of child’s imagination can be.

Her characters are often clumsy, dreamy or thoughtful. When she draws them, she always makes up a story about each character. She imagines how they talk and behave. That way she gets to know them better.

She makes her sketches the traditional way and after that illustrates them either with water colors or using digital media.
